Welcome to the Cedars Golf Club

A community of like-minded people who share a passion for golf and a love of Lebanese culture.

Who we are

We were founded in 1995 by three friends, Anthony Jagga, Robert Simpson, and Norman Towell, who wanted to create a space where Lebanese people could come together to play golf, socialize, and build friendships.

Over the years, we have grown into a thriving community of over 40 members. We play 12 golf games a year at various courses around Gauteng, and we also have an annual tour to a different destination outside of Gauteng.

Our club is open to anyone who has Lebanese parentage or is married to a Lebanese woman. You must be over 18 years old, have an official handicap, and undergo a year of trial membership before you can become a full member.

non profit

We are a non-profit organization, but we do charge annual membership fees. These fees help us to cover the cost of running the club, including the cost of course fees, greens fees, and other expenses.

We are a democratic organization, and our members have a say in how the club is run. We hold an annual general meeting (AGM) where members can vote on club policies and elect new officers.

We are a friendly and welcoming club, and we encourage all members to participate in our events and activities. We believe that golf is a great way to stay active, have fun, and make new friends.

Cedars Golf Club General Rules

The Cedar Golf Club has a clear and comprehensive set of rules that all members and visitors must adhere to when playing on the course. The primary overarching rule is that the game shall be played in accordance with the official rules and regulations as approved and published by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A), the world’s governing body for the sport of golf. This ensures that play at Cedar Golf Club is consistent with the standard rules and etiquette observed at golf clubs and tournaments around the globe.

Cedars Golf Club

Our ethos is steeped in our unwavering commitment to each other, to our shared heritage, and to the beautiful game of golf.
